Nations Cup Event Series

From the West to the East Coast, the Top End to Tassie, AUS Cheer's Nations Cup event series is coming to a town near you!

The Nations Cup event series has FOUR rounds of awesome cheerleading action.  With a mix of Regional, State, National and even International events, there is a competition for everyone.

AUS Cheer's 'Nations Cup' is a points based system, which allows Australian teams to compete against each other ALL season.  That's right, we said ALL SEASON.

Teams will be able to earn points every time they attend an AUS Cheer Competition, giving them the chance to compete against teams across Australia without having to travel to the same competitions.

The team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned the Nation's Cup Champions at the AUS Cheer Australian Grand Championships.  The winning team will receive a special commemorative gift.

To win a TYPICAL competition you have to be good for a day, but to win the Nations Cup you have to be GREAT all year!  Is your team up for the challenge?

What AUS Cheer events are part of the Nations Cup Series?

The Nations Cup event series consists of 4 rounds of competition, plus a fun and relaxing special event to end the season while raising some serious money for charity:
  • Round 1: Australian Challenge
  • Round 2: AUS Cheer International Cheer & Dance Championships
  • Round 3: Australian Showdown
  • Round 4: Australian Grand
  • SPECIAL EVENT: Australian Cheer for a Cure

AUSTRALIAN CHALLENGE - Ready, steady, Cheer!
The 'Australian Challenges' are regional competitions and a perfect starting point to kick off the cheerleading season.  They are also a great chance for teams to earn valuable points on their Nations Cup journey!

'AUS CHEER' INTERNATIONAL CHEER & DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS - Taking cheer to the World
Get ready for a taste of cheerleading from around the world!  This event will combine cheer and dance, with a touch of the Gold Coast sun thrown in.

AUSTRALIAN SHOWDOWN - Cheer your way to the top
The competition is pumping up and it's time to battle it out for State honours.  Be a part of the excitment as teams vie for the title of State Champion at this event.

AUSTRALIAN GRAND - The final destination
A championship like no other!  Teams from all around the country will converge on Melbourne for the ultimate in cheerleading competitions, the AUS Cheer Australian Grand.  With bids to IASF Cheerleading and Dance Worlds on offer, who will be crowned the 2009 Australian Champion?

AUSTRALIAN CHEER FOR A CURE - Cheer for Life
Cheerleading is all about spirit, so here's your chance to show us what you've got.  AUS Cheer is proud to present AUS Cheer - Cheer for a Cure.  A percentage of all entry fees will be donated to a selected charity.  There's never been a better time to pull out your pom poms!

So what are you waiting for?  Register your interest in the AUS Cheer Nations Cup series TODAY!

How do I register?
When your team competes at any AUS Cheer event, your team is automatically entered in the Nations Cup series.

When does the Nations Cup Series start?
The Nations Cup series starts with the first Australian Challenge event of the year in May and ends at the Australian Grand in October.

How do I earn points?
Earning points for the Nations Cup Series is easy. Teams accumulate points throughout the entire AUS Cheer season. Firstly, you receive points for just turning up! And then your performance score is used to calculate your final score.

At the end of the four rounds, the top three scores for each team will be added together to calculate their final Nations Cup standing. To reward teams who travel to more than three AUS Cheer competitions, the bonus points will ALWAYS be included in your final placing.

Here is how AUS Cheer will calculate each team’s Nations Cup points:
Each team’s final score will be multiplied by 10.  This is the number of points that the team will receive for that event.  For example, a team with a final score of 128 will receive 1,280 points.

Level adjustment (Cheer)
As scores are out of 165 points for teams entered in Level 1, and 200 points for teams entered in Level 2-6, teams entered in Level 1 will have their performance score multiplied by 200, then divided by 165, to get an adjusted score out of 200 points.

Bonus points!
Bonus Points will be earned at every event attended, regardless if the team score is used from that event (for teams that attend more than 3 events).
- Each team that attends an Australian Challenge will receive 100 Bonus Points (per event).
- Each team that attends an Australian Showdown will receive 200 Bonus Points.
- Each team that attends the AUS Cheer Internationals or Australian Grand will receive 300 Bonus Points (per event).
